Samsung Instinct Calendar is Awful

My Samsung Instinct offers bitter sweet pleasure. I love the touch screen and the UNLIMITED plan offered by Sprint. However, if a calendar can suck then the one on the Instinct double sucks. It is a cluster of crap put together by a person that has obviously NEVER used a calendar on their cell phone. I will bet you that the calendar on a free phone is better than the one on the Instinct. I also bet you that Samsung has no plans to make it better. They are going to wait for the App Store and for some developer to create “the calendar that should have been on the phone from the start.” UGH. I am sure you are wondering how it can be so bad.

Well, here is how. I cannot see my upcoming appointments! I had dinner scheduled with a friend today and I intended to have a very light lunch in preparation for the dinner. Well, when was I reminded of the impending lunch? The moment I returned from a lunch of ribs, fries, and garlic bread I see a missed call from my friend. When does my calendar mention the lunch? 30 minutes before like I asked it to. So, you are saying what's the problem - you asked for 30 minutes before and it told you 30 minutes before. Well, perhaps my Blackberries spoiled me but I am accustomed to seeing my daily events displayed "right in my face" on the main screen and then when it's time for the "reminder" the alarms sounds. Tell me at the start of my day what’s coming so I can prepare, then tell me at the specified time so I can get there on time. Novel, I know.

I truly do not think that I am asking for to much. I have resorted to using Google Calendar but for this one, I forgot to put it there.

If you are an app developer working on the Samsung Instinct, I implore you to create a calendar that provides my daily events on the main screen and then when it is time for the event, I receive an alarm. As a busy professional or a useless slacker I need this feature.
