I had an eye appointment today. That did not turn out so well. The press in my eye is higher and my vision field test was not positive (could have been the machine). So, I have to go back in one month to do it all over again.
Whenever I go for my eye inspection, I cannot read for at least 3 hours so I decided to stop at UCF and see if I could get in to see Bill Clinton speak. The two parking garages closest to the Arena were full and I almost came home but decided to drive around and I found a spot in a grass lot near the Arena. By the time I got in line, it was about 9:30. Amazing how hot it does not seem when I am sitting at my desk but when I am standing in a line outside, it is hotter than anyone could imagine. The guy in front of me was sweating so profusely you would have thought he had jumped in a pool with his shirt on. I was grossed out and intrigued at the same time. They started "letting us in" at 11:30 then I find out, we are not going into the Arena, this speech is going to take place outside on the grassy knoll (haaaa). As you can guess, I did not stick around much longer. No way am I going to stand outside in the heat and humidity to watch a speech that I could watch on TV. Did I come home and watch it, well no but you know what I mean. It was cool to get a ticket and know that I would have been standing within a few feet of Clinton. Not that I think he's great or anything but it has been said that he is a pretty good speaker. Maybe he will come back this winter.

Oh man...that is so cool! You should have stayed. You could have taken off your bra and thrown it at him ;-)
ReplyDeleteI saw John Kerry at a rally in 2004. It was at the fairgrounds, but wasn't hot (so I didn't have to take off my bra!)
I am definitely keeping my bra on.....it helps to keep my shirt from falling off;)
